Chobe Chilwero’s 15 cottages measure 61 square metres and have their own ensuite bathroom with modern bath, indoor and outdoor showers, private garden with hammock, private balcony, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer, minibar as well as an in-room safe. The main public area includes a lounge and dining room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. The wine cellar is temperature controlled and houses a large variety of South African wines. The spa offers a range of spa and hydrotherapy treatments from both the Thalgo and Africology ranges. The lodge also boasts a split-level swimming pool, library, curio shop and a communications centre, which offers telephone, fax and internet access.
Warthogs and antelopes like the manicured lawn in front of the lodge and are seen grazing from time to time.
Location
Chobe Chilwero is situated about 10 minutes from Kasane, right at the border to Chobe National Park. The lodge was built above the Chobe River and offers panoramic views across the Chobe River and the flood plains on the Namibian side.
Wildlife
Chobe‘s wildlife roams in profusion and diversity. It is home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa and during the dry season the herds congregate along the fertile flood plains of the Chobe River. Large herds of Buffalo also concentrate on the floodplains during the dry season. Other major species such as Lion, Wild Dog, Puku, Red Lechwe, Sable and Roan Antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve.
Activities
Game drives are conducted in open sided 4x4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility. Guests can also enjoy boat rides on Chobe River or a romantic sunset cruise.
