Kwara Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Kwara Private Reserve. It is situated on the edge of a lagoon on a forested island and has the reputation of being one of the best safari camps in Botswana for big cats - which is undoubtedly the focus of most visitors. In addition, land and water activities are available all year round.
The nine large suites are set on raised wooden platforms and are divided into a living area, a slightly raised bedroom and a bathroom with double washbasin, bathtub and indoor/outdoor shower. All suites face the lagoon and also have a deck where you can sit outside.
The suites are each connected by sandy paths to the main building, which is located in the center of the camp. It consists of the dining tent, lounge, library and gift store. Both wings of the camp also have a pool area with sun loungers and a free minibar.
A special feature of Kwara Camp is the minimum age of 18 years - an adult-only camp.
Location
Kwara Camp is part of the private Kwara Concession (1'750 km²). The concession lies in the north of the Okavango Delta and shares a boundary of 30 kilometres with the world famous Moremi Game Reserve. It boasts both permenent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness.
Kwara is accessed by light aircraft. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is about 40 minutes, and 1 hour 30 minutes to Kasane. Driving time from Kwara Airstrip to Kwara Camp is approximately 15 minutes.

Wildlife
The area is home to an astounding array of animal and bird life, including lion, hyena, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos. The rare sable antelope is often seen as well.
Activities
Kwara camp is situated near to permanent water and can offer the following year-round activities: game drives, walking safaris, boat cruises, mokoro, and seasonal fishing (Mar-Dec only).
Sundowner boat trips on the channels and lagoons are done using a double-decker boat. Large breeding colonies of herons can be found at Godikwe Lagoon and Gcobega Lagoon from October to March.
As the camp is located in a private concession, night driving with a searchlight and off-road driving for special animal observation is allowed. Close-up shots are guaranteed.
Good to know
Game drives are undertaken in open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles seating no more than four guests. Guests are guided by a two person team of professional guide and tracker - a special feature of the Kwando Safaris wildlife experience.
