Accommodation
Linyanti Bush Camp is an intimate 12-bedded tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marsh, within a private concession bordering the Western boundary of Chobe National Park.The six tents are spacious and include your double or twin bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and flush toilet, a sofa, writing desk and tea-coffee station. Sit on your private deck and gaze out over the river and marshes beyond. All rooms face the Linyanti river where elephants are often seen walk past the camp or birds that search for insects in the shallow water.
The elevated communal area offers a cosy lounge, library bar and dining area. A staircase leads down to the open fire, where guests are invited to exchange safari stories in the evening or where porridge and toast is warmed up for an early morning breakfast. The plunge pool offers a wonderful place to enjoy the unique Linyanti landscape. Dinner is sometimes served under the stars in the boma area.
Linyanti Ebony Camp is Linyanti Bush Camp's sister camp, offering three double tents and a family tent, which is ideal for families and groups. Ebony Camp has a swimming pool. Ebony Camp has no minimum age for children and welcomes families with smaller children as well.
Location
Linyanti Bush Camp is located north of the Okavango Delta in the Linyanti region. The camp owns a private concession in the Chobe Enclave, which borders the Chobe National Park.
Linyanti Bush Camp is situated approx. 40 minutes drive from Saile airstrip. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 60 minutes, and 45 minutes to Kasane.
Wildlife
The Linyanti Swamps which form the border to Namibia attract thousands of elephants and buffalo during the dry winter months when water sources in the hinterland dry up. The miriad of waterways are home to crocodile and hippo and water loving antelopes such as red lechwe and sitatunga.
Game drives usually take place along the Linyanti River, where many animals, mostly lion, leopard and hyena, can be seen at the forest's edge or on the grassland. Bird life is prolific as well. The Chobe area is famous for the rare roan and sable antelope.
Activities
Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives, walking, mekoro if water levels permit. A half-hour scenic helicopter flight is included with a 3-night stay or more from April to November.
