Qorokwe Camp
Okavango Delta
Accommodation
Qorokwe Camp has eight elegant tented suites plus one very spacious family unit with its own splash pool. En-suite facilities feature an indoor/outdoor shower. The magnificent main area is the focal point of the camp and overlooks a lagoon.
The dining area, lounge, library and bar are built on raised wooden platforms, all connected by walkways. The open architecture is inviting and stylish, with various fireplaces in the bar and lounge and at the boma, which is situated in front of the main building. A swimming pool is also available.
Location
The exclusive Qorokwe Concession encompasses over 262 km² in a high-density game area of the south-eastern Okavango, bordering the Chitabe area and the renowned Moremi Game Reserve.
The Qorokwe concession is defined by the Gomoti Channel in the east, while a large part of it lies across the Santantadibe River to the west. This variety of habitats, plus the fact that the concession has permanent water all year round, allows for a unique diversity of wildlife and birds. The camp itself overlooks a lagoon which is a magnet for wildlife.
Qorokwe Camp is only accessible by light aircraft. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 20 minutes, and 1 hour 40 minutes to Kasane.
Wildlife
Wildlife sighting in Qorokwe Concession are expected to be excellent with good numbers of big cats such as lion, leopard and cheetah. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu and the water loving red lechwe are all present and guarantee fantastic game drives and water activities.
Activities
Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives. Water-based activities such as motorboat (seasonal) and traditional ‘mokoro' dugout canoe.
Because the camp is located in a private concession, night driving with a searchlight and off-road driving for special animal observation is allowed. Close-up shots are guaranteed.
