Thamo Telele (the former Royal Tree Lodge) has been taken over and renovated by Natural Selection. Thamo Telele feels like a cosy bush camp and could be your home should a stay in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, be required.

The nine guest tents on raised platforms have been nicely refurbished and are bright and friendly with a small veranda that invites you to linger. Spacious en-suite bathrooms with bathtub and outdoor shower are also part of the inventory of each guest tent. In combination with the additional two larger Honeymoon Chalets, Thamo Telele offers accommodation for a maximum of 22 guests.

In the main building, evening sundowners are enjoyed at the bar with lounge sofas and dinner on the terrace under the stars. On hot days, guests can cool off in a small swimming pool.

The drive from Maun Airport to the lodge takes about 20 minutes. Thamo Telele is located just outside the ever-growing town, on a fenced farm area. Various wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, oryx, impala, as well as many bird species live on the farm. However, no predators and elephants.

Since the area is home to only harmless wildlife, guests can take unaccompanied bush walks on marked trails to track the animals. Or you use one of the in-house bicycles (fat tire safari bikes) to explore the area. Horseback riding trips are available and can be booked at the reception. The Thamo Telele team also organises cultural guided tours to Maun upon request.
