The LUX* Grand Gaube celebrates its own lifestyle with a remarkable design, classy but absolutely relaxed. The five star hotel offers spacious rooms, suites and villas in various sizes, all with a view of the Indian Ocean. The light and airy entrance area leads directly to the secluded bay, to the left you will find the Café LUX*, where you will be served with a perfect cappuccino from their own roastery at all times. Behind is the pretty Palm Court Restaurant, where you will also enjoy breakfast, the huge swimming pool and the peruvian restaurant Inti. Down on the beach is the colourful Beach Rouge Bistro, which serves delicious salads and mediterranean dishes. On the other side of the bay is the oriental Bodrum Blue Restaurant with its round terrace just above the turquoise blue water. The second part of the beach is an «Adults only» area with a second large swimming pool, a romantic Burger Shack under an ancient banyan tree and the French Kiss Bar in the shape of a painted food truck. In between you can treat yourself to a «Gelato» from the mobile ice cream parlour, naturally only with homemade ice cream. Thanks to the many different corners, guests will be well distributed in the LUX* Grand Gaube. Families in particular also feel very much at home here, as there is a suitable activity for everyone.
Location
The hotel is located in the north of the island, about an hour drive from the airport. Mauritius was completely uninhabited until the year 1507, when Captain Don Pedro Mascarenhas discovered the island during a sea voyage from Cape Town to India. The ancestors of today‘s Mauritians were mainly Indians, Pakistanis, Africans, French and English, a fact that explains the interesting cuisine, the Creole language and the high mutual acceptance of the different religions.
Activities
Water sports are of course a priority; water skiing, windsurfing, pedalo riding, kayaking, snorkelling, glass-bottom boating, stand up paddling and Hobie Cat sailing are all included. Diving, fishing, kitesurfing and catamaran sailing are paid extra on site. There is a wonderful spa, a fitness centre and tennis court as well as a yoga studio. A concierge is available for golfers to plan their tee times, and the 18-hole golf course «Mont Choisy» is very close by. In addition, the tee shot can be perfected on the driving range in the hotel garden. Creative activities and fun excursions are organised for children of all ages, and babysitting can also be booked on site.
