Machangulo Beach Lodge can easily be reached from Maputo. Despite to its proximity to the capital, the lodge is located in a secluded spot far away from the city and well hidden behind high sand dunes. Machangulo Beach Lodge overlooks endless white beaches, pristine and untouched dune forests and sits right at the channel that separates Inhaca Island and the Santa Maria Peninsula.

Machangulo Beach Lodge features nine ocean view chalets. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, mosquito nets and private deck. The chalets have a breathtaking view of the ocean and Inhaca Island. All the chalets are connected by walkways and staircases to the main buildings and the beach. The main building includes a large inviting lounge with bar area, dining area and swimming pool.

The beautiful Machangulo peninsula is an unspoilt African wilderness situated in the Southern most part of Mozambique adjacent to Inhaca Island in the Bay of Maputo. Within the peninsula are twelve substantial lakes and a vast territory of natural indigenous bush. The coastline falls within a marine reserve protecting endangered turtles and is flanked by the calmness of the bay on the Western side, the wildness of the Indian Ocean on the East and Maputo Elephant Reserve to the South.

You will be expected at Maputo airport and taken to the Maputo Marina, from where it is a 70min boat ride through the endless channels of the bay to the lodge’s secluded beach. The Peninsula of Machangula and the island of Inhaca lie 30km to the east of Maputo City.

These activites can be booked at the lodge: Diving, snorkeling (also at a wreck), offshore fishing, fly fishing, spear fishing, canoeing, spa treatments. You can also walk endlessly along the beach or just relax in the hammock and read your favourite book.
