Ondudu Safari Lodge
Erongo Mountains
Accommodation
Ondudu Safari Lodge (formerly Erongo Wild) has ten stilted tents with en-suite facilities, minibar and veranda. Each tent sits nestled in its own rocky niche, ensuring both exclusivity and privacy. The main building houses a restaurant, a plunge pool and a fantastic outdoor area with a fire pit, providing the perfect setting for exquisitely prepared evening meals.
Location
The lodge is situated in the Erongo Mountain Nature Reserve (200'000 hectares). The nature reserve is the result of 30 landowners collaborating to conserve their local natural resources. Home to Namibian artisans, the well-kept small town of Omaruru is situated close by - even the chocolate is produced locally.
Wildlife
The Erongo Mountains are situated where the Namib Desert in the west gives way to woodland savannah in the east, creating a rare biodiversity with many endemic plants, reptiles and birds.
Activities
Guests can visit several sites of cultural interest/rock paintings located in the vicinity. Guides are more than happy to take you on a tour of the high granite cliffs and show you the details of nature often overlooked by laypeople. The brave can also wander off alone. Nature drives through this incredible environment in an open land cruiser are also available.
Further activities that can be arranged include: A visit to the region's only winemaker, microlight flights, quad biking, and a visit to a local jewellery shop near Omaruru.
