Okonjima is the home of the AfriCat Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue and preservation of Namibia’s big cat population. It has rescued over 1000 big cats since 1993 and released 86% of them back into the wild.
Okonjima African Villa is situated 10 km from Okonjima Plains Camp (the main camp). The villa is the only accommodation that is located within the wildlife reserve.
The African Villa actually comprises a main house and two separate, private suites "North" and "South", which sit a distance of 40 metres away at either side of the house. The main house offers a kitchen, dining room, lounge with fireplace and two further en-suite bedrooms. The villa offers space for a total of eight adults and four children. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning/heating, ventilators, WiFi and Internet connection. The villa also boasts a large pool. In front of the villa a big waterhole attracts various wildlife.
The villa can be booked on exclusive basis but is often offered on a room basis and then works like a small, intimate lodge.
