Ongava Game Reserve
Etosha South
Etosha National Park is Namibia's premier safari destination. Covering almost the same area as Switzerland, Etosha is one of the largest national parks in Africa. To the west of the park lay the silvery white salt pans and adjoining waterholes, which magically attract a myriad of wildlife during the dry season.
Ongava Game Reserve borders Etosha National Park to the south. The reserve is mainly covered by mopane forest, but also offers several beautiful, open plains. Ongava Lodge is located approximately 20 minutes from Anderson's Gate.

Wildlife
Etosha is home to most of the big animals plus a remarkable number of antelopes and over 300 species of birds. Only the water loving buffalo and hippo are missing. From January to March, after the rainy season, the salt pans can be covered with water for a short time and pelicans and flamingos often come for a visit.
Activities
The game reserve offers game drives in open 4x4 vehicles within the reserve and in Etosha National Park, bushwalking and rhino walks. Etosha National Park is usually visited in the mornings, with a further activity within the reserve in the evenings. Night drives in the reserve are possible.
Self-drivers please note that private drives are not allowed within the reserve.
