Dramatic piles of mesmerisingly balanced granite boulders in a rugged desert landscape set the perfect backdrop for Sorris Sorris Lodge. There are just nine beautiful suites made out of granite stone and wood, each designed to take in the surrounding landscape. All rooms offer panoramic views over the Ugab River and Namibia's tallest mountain range, the Brandberg Massif.

The main area sits on top of the hill and features pool, guest lounge and bar area on an elevated deck. At the time of our visit the cuisine was a real highlight and service was spotless. The rooms and public areas connected by raised wooden walkways and stairways that are partly quite steep. Guests who are not good on foot need to book one of the rooms that are located closer to the main building and easier accessible.

The sweeping views from Sorris Sorris are one of the best in the whole of Namibia. Watching the sunset from Sorris Sorris paired with a good glass of wine is a moment that remains with you for a long time.

Sorris Sorris is lcoated north of the Ugab River and Brandberg Massif, accessible via the C35 road, which is the main road connecting Swakopmund and Twyfelfontein.

Desert elephant, giraffe, zebra and oryx can be found in and around the Ugab riverbed. The river is dry for most of the year and only carries water after heavy rains.

Guided walks and scenic nature drives in the Brandberg area, including searching for desert adapted elephants in the Ugab River.
