Accommodation
Wolwedans Desert Lodge (ex Dunes Lodge) is situated on a plateau offering spectacular panoramic views in all directions. Each of the ten spacious chalets is equipped with en-suite facilities and a large private veranda, where guests can enjoy the fantastic vistas over the NamibRand Nature Reserve. The tent walls can be rolled up to give an exhilarating feeling of being truly amidst nature.

The main building comprises two lounges, a fire pit, library, wine cellar and two dining rooms joined by a platform, where guests can marvel at the flora and fauna over a relaxing drink. A pool with loungers offers the perfect opportunity to cool down.

Mountain View Suite
With 200 square metres of deck rising above the dunes, the Mountain View Suite provides ample living space. The Suite is located within walking distance from the Desert Lodge, yet it is secluded, allowing guests to spend time in a homely and stylish atmosphere.

Location
The NamibRand Nature Reserve is one of southern Africa's largest private reserves. A large number of sheep farms were combined with the aim of creating an unfenced nature reserve where animals can roam freely. The reserve covers 200,000 hectares bordering on the Namib Naukluft Park to the west, and the Nubib Mountains in the east.

Wildlife
Game species found in the Reserve include gemsbok, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, oryx, ostrich, red hartebeest, bat-eared fox, spotted hyena, cape fox and african wildcat. The rocky areas are inhibited by kudu, klipspringer, baboon and leopard. Don't expect to find them in great numbers, but they can be found in the area.

Activities
The lodge offers trips in 4x4 vehicles to the most beautiful parts of the region. Guided walking safaris. The guides are more than welcome to explain all they know about the Namib Desert. Wolwedans also offers horse riding all year round apart from the hot summer months December to March. On offer are morning or afternoon rides (approx 1,5 hrs), sundowner rides (2 hrs) or full day rides.
