Denis Island Private offers 25 beach villas in five different room categories. There are Beach Cottages, Deluxe Beach Cottages, Beachfront Spa Cottages, the family villa (2 bedrooms, total size 170m2) and the luxurious Beach Villa. The main building is located on the tip of the island with rooms scattered along the beach on either side of the island.
The ten Deluxe Beach Cottages (110m2) are sea facing with open terrace leading into a private garden and onto the beach; with sun loungers and personal sala and daybed. The three Beach Cottages (90m2) are slightly smaller and come without outside sala but sit directly on the beachfront. The ten Beachfront Spa Cottages (150m2) are spacious chalets that lie directly on the beachfront, with open-air bathroom and separate courtyard with a massage/wellness pavilion. The beach villa (325m2) has a private beachfront with an extensive outdoor living and relaxation area with a private courtyard featuring twin alfresco showers, an extended sea-facing private deck with outdoor sitting and dining pavilion, day bed and plunge pool.
Denis Island is a private coral islet of 375 acres, exclusively reserved for guests to share with nature. There is no village or any settlement apart from the staff quarters at the far end of the island. The main building compromises an elegant lounge with bar, library, wine cellar, boutique and the dining area with show kitchen.
Location
Denis Private Island is located 95km north of Mahe. Access is by air. The flight takes about 30 minutes. The island is surrounded by a coral reef and beautiful white beaches.
Wildlife
Denis Island is a nesting ground for both Hawksbill and Green Turtles. The nesting season for the Hawksbill turtle is from October/November to February. The Green turtle nests from May to September. The newborn turtles hatch two months after the eggs are laid.
Activities
Denis Island's white beaches are ideal for swimming in the ocean, for kids and adults alike.The PADI dive centre offers a range of different dive sites to choose from, as well as certification courses for beginners. Catch-and-release sport fishing can be arranged.
Other a ctivities on offer are snorkeling, sea kayaks, billard and walks over the island. If you like jogging, there are several fantastic running trails on the island.
Spa treatments can be done in the cottage in the open air or at the Beachfront Spa Cottage, with its very own spa pavilion in the courtyard.
