Le Domaine’s 63 villas are located a few steps away from famous Anse Severe beach on La Dique Island. Le Domaine is the only true luxury hotel on La Dique. It is located near the main village La Passe, which means you can go out and enjoy island life and are not confined to the hotel premises. As the island is quite small, excursions to one of the many beautiful beaches around the islands are an enjoyable experience.

The Combava restaurant offers a la carte service, the Santosha restaurant buffet style. Several bars, including one at the infinity pool, await you with a range of drinks and home-made specialties.

Location
After the main island and the neighbouring island Praslin, La Digue is one of the larger Seychelles islands covering roughly 10km². It is located about 50km from Mahe and 7km from Praslin, with regular ferry connections between the islands. The Cat Roses ferry from Praslin takes about 30 minutes and the Cat Cocos ferries either go direct to La Digue in 60 minutes or via Praslin in 1h30. From the jetty it is a short 5min ride to the lodge. As an alternative to the often bumpy boat rides we suggest a heli flip from Mahe directly to La Digue's L'Union heli pad which is only 15 minutes from the lodge.

On La Digue times passes in slow island speed. Most visitors and locals alike use the bicycle to travel around the island - or even an ox wagon. Within an hour's walk, you can reach any point on the island - the lack of traffic adds to the relaxed and calm atmosphere.

There are beaches all around the island, with Anse de Source d’Argent probably being the best known and one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Most of the approximately 2000 Diguois live in the village of La Passe on the west coast of the island. The south and the east of the island are largely uninhabited and the beaches very secluded and wild with Grande Anse, Petite Anse and the delightful Anse Cocos certainly worth exploring.

Activities
Bikes, towels and snorkeling equippment are provided by the hotel free of charge to encourage you to explore the island. A picnic to carry or fit on the bike can be prepared with supplement. There is a large swimming pool at the hotel and an excellent spa. Tailer made excursions such as boat and helicopter trips, fishing or scuba diving can be arranged as well.

Good to know
The weather on Seychelles is determined by the trade winds which change direction twice yearly. The Northwest monsoon starts in November and causes rain fall, especially from December to February. From May to October the south-east trade winds (Southeast monsoon) bring a relatively dry period, but winds can be strong and the sea can be choppy, especially in July and August. In October and April, when the trade winds change direction, the sea can be very calm and this is also the best time for diving.

Seychelles enjoy very warm temperatures all year round, temperatures vary between 25 and 30 °C. Rain is possible all year round but normally in short sharp showers, hence the lush green vegetation. Some of the beaches are prone to seaweed at certain times of the year but there is always a beach close by that is not facing the wind.
