On La Digue times passes in slow island speed. Most visitors and locals alike use the bicycle to travel around the island - or even an ox wagon. Within an hour's walk, you can reach any point on the island - the lack of traffic adds to the relaxed and calm atmosphere.
There are beaches all around the island, with Anse de Source d’Argent probably being the best known and one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Most of the approximately 2000 Diguois live in the village of La Passe on the west coast of the island. The south and the east of the island are largely uninhabited and the beaches very secluded and wild with Grande Anse, Petite Anse and the delightful Anse Cocos certainly worth exploring.
Seychelles enjoy very warm temperatures all year round, temperatures vary between 25 and 30 °C. Rain is possible all year round but normally in short sharp showers, hence the lush green vegetation. Some of the beaches are prone to seaweed at certain times of the year but there is always a beach close by that is not facing the wind.
