Babylonstoren
Cape Winelands

Accommodation
Babylonstoren is a Cape Dutch farm with vineyards and vegetable gardens, surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Drakenstein Valley with a particularly well-maintained farm that was built in 1690. The fruit- and vegetable garden supplies the two charming restaurants. Guests staying at Babylonstoren have unlimited access to the whole farmland and enjoy the services of the spa and gym facilities.

All 29 rooms have views to the Babylonstoren gardens or to the surrounding vineyards. There are suites with one bedroom and a private little garden and cottages with two bedrooms and a private glass house kitchen. The style of all rooms is kept in the traditional Cape Dutch style. However, the interior design is simple yet modern, stylish and bright colors are predominant. The walls are whitewashed, the pediment decorated with ornaments. The interiors are cool in summer (due to the thick walls) and are heated by open fires in winter.

Location
Babylonstoren lies between the Paarl and Stellenbosch wine area, which is about 45 minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport.

Restaurants
The farm restaurant "Babel" serves lovely homemade dishes, vegetables and fruits are picked from the Babylonstoren gardens. The restaurant building is flooded with light during the days and a warm and welcoming room in the evenings. Babel is closed on Mondays and Wednesday but you are invited to dine at their tasting room or at the greenhouse as well.

Activities
If you like physical exercise you are welcome to visit the gym, those who prefer to relax use the spa and swimming pool. The gardens and fields of the farm are ideal for a relaxing walk (guided tours take place daily). At midday the guests and visitors are invited to visit the in-house wine cellar and to learn more about wine cultivation and production, followed by wine tasting.

For those who would like to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area on a guided tour, we recommend a private tour with one of our guides.
