The enchanting boutique hotel called Emily Moon River Lodge is set amidst greenery on a bend of the Bitou River. The sixteen cozy suites are furnished with carefully selected vintage furniture. They all have a lounge, veranda, minibar and fireplace. Each has its own personal flair thanks to artifacts from Africa, Asia, and Polynesia acquired by the owners on their travels. Plettenberg Bay is the perfect base from which to discover the ocean. The winter months (July – October) are ideal for taking a boat trip in search of whale; dolphin can be found during summer and Robberg is home to a seal colony containing some 5000 animals.

Birds of Eden and Monkey World are very popular with children and quite educational. Robberg Nature Reserve is situated just south of Plettenberg Bay. It offers beautiful hiking trails and deserted beaches, perfect for a picnic.
