Accommodation
MalaMala Camp (former Main Camp) is a long established and traditional property. The family-friendly camp comprises 8 Luxury Rooms (55m²) with en-suite bathroom and private deck and 11 spacious luxury suites (85m²) with additional bath, outside shower and views of either the Sand River or a waterhole.

The camp is quite large compared to other accommodation in the Sabi Sand Reserve and offers a spacious lounge, dining room, the iconic Buffalo Bar featuring historic photographs of the early days, a library - affectionately known as the Monkey Club, a traditional reed boma (dining under the stars), as well as a beautiful swimming pool and a expansive wooden safari deck overlooking the Sand River and the myriad of animals that the river attracts.

MalaMala Camp welcomes children of all ages, children of 5 years and younger are not permitted in the boma, game drives only on private vehicle. Babysitting is available at a nominal fee.

Location
Covering an area of 13,200 hectares, MalaMala Game Reserve is the largest private reserve in the Sabi Sand Reserve. Traversed by the life-giving Sand River, this expansive region shares a 19 km unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park and guarantees fantastic game drives across a large area with few other vehicles.

Wildlife
With the addition of cheetah and wild dog, the reserve also boasts being able to present the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino) on almost any day of the week. Hyena, giraffe, hippo, zebra and several species of antelope may also be encountered. Many animals make their first appearance while guests take their morning coffee on the terrace overlooking Sands River.

Activities
Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives, guided walks.
