Reminiscent of an African farmhouse, Singita Castleton is designed for exclusive use and the beautiful stone-walled homestead and six double en-suite cottages are perfect for families and friends. The full staff complement includes a field guide, chef, host and amenities like a fully equipped fitness centre, tennis court, spa treatment room, wine cellar and country-style kitchen accommodate every preference.

Castleton was once the private residence of the Bailes family. Situated in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Reserve, it features relaxed and understated interiors imbued with nostalgic references. Many of the antiques and original furnishings have been refashioned, adding authenticity to comforting living spaces that extend outdoors onto deep, furnished verandas overlooking tree-shaded lawns and an expansive swimming pool. The park-like gardens overlook a watering hole where animals regularly gather to drink.

Singita Castleton’s six double en-suite guest cottages are located a short distance from the main house. Two of the cottages have an inter-leading door, making them perfect for families with young children.

Singita Castleton sits in the 18,210 hectare Singita Sabi Sand Reserve, which is part of the Sabi Sand Reserve. The reserve is made up of typical Kruger Park bush, romantic riverbanks and several open plains.  

Flights from Johannesburg arrive at Singita Sabi Sand Airstrip, which is located approximately 10 minutes from the lodges.

The Sabi Sand Reserve is one of the best regions in which to see lion and leopard. Animals are free to roam between Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand, and year-round sightings are practically guaranteed. Elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and rhino also make this region their home. Hippo and crocodile can be found wallowing in the Sand River.

The lodges offer day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, walking safaris (from 16 years and older), tennis, boule. The ample lawns are also ideal for activities like cricket. Guests can also take advantage of the fitness centre, massage treatment rooms and yoga pavilion as well as the expansive swimming pool.

Guests may also visit the anti-poaching canine unit and meet with one of the senior dog handlers. Watch the highly trained dogs use their skills to track through the bush as part of routine exercises.
