The lodge's reception can be found en-route to Chapman's Peak. Guests park their car here before being picked up by golf buggy and taken along the winding, craggy cliff-top road that leads down to the lodge. On arrival, the main building's large glass doors immediately reveal the breaking waves of the Atlantic Ocean and the sentinel located at the other end of the bay. The lodge is decorated with an elegant oceanic theme, with lots of blue, turquoise, green and white. The kitchen is open-plan, allowing guests to enjoy a good chat with the chefs. Each of the eleven climate-controlled rooms (including the Presidential Suite) is individually decorated to emulate well-known islands of the world. All rooms are located on the water's edge and between July and November lucky guests will be able to watch whales from the comfort of their own bed.

There is no sandy beach - the coast is craggy and wild with huge crashing waves. Tintswalo Atlantic has now built a swimming pool at the end of the lodge thus increasing its relaxation factor.

Tintswalo Atlantic is situated on the coast of Hout Bay and occupies a unique and spectacular seafront position. Hout Bay is easily accessed by car from Cape Town; the route follows the coast towards Cape Point and takes a good two hours. The sentinel dominates one end of Hout Bay, with Chapman's Peak and the Tintswalo Atlantic located at the other end. Hout Bay village is nestled between the two.

The Cape of Good Hope and the Constantia wine region are situated a good hour's drive away. The lodge arranges walks in the area and in the nearby national park.
