Kambi Ya Tembo Tented Camp was created in close collaboration with the indigenous Maasai population and the land upon which it is built is leased from them. Your visit directly supports the friendly locals, who are more than happy make your acquaintance. Furnished and decorated in a hearty, down-to-earth style, the camp offers twelve tents with private baths and terraces.
Location
Kambi Ya Tembo is the only camp situated in Sinya, a private concession bordering the Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Enjoy awe-inspiring views of Kilimanjaro in a scarcely developed region populated by Maasai tribes in the old, traditional manner. The camp is located 2.5 hours from Arusha or 1.5 hours from Kilimanjaro Airport.
Wildlife
The herbivore-rich wildlife here includes zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, gazelle, etc., but predators are hard to find. Big tuskers move between Amboseli National Park in Kenya and the woods of Sinya in search of food and water.
Activities
The camp offers game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors, market visits and school visits. Guests are more than welcome to drop in during any of the traditional ceremonies that happen to take place in the village during their stay.
