Kichakani Camp
Northern Serengeti - Lamai
Accommodation
Kichakani Camp is a classic mobile safari camp with a touch of luxury that offers accommodation under canvas in 10 tents that are stylefully furnished. Each tent has a wooden deck perfect for pausing for a just-brewed cup of Tanzania’s finest coffee, and ensuite bathrooms feature authentic bucket showers. Handcrafted luggage, easy chairs with an air of mid-century modern, and characterful cabinets and desks, have all been designed to bring the charm of centuries-ago safari living up to date.
The large and comfortable communal tents provide a dining area where scrumptious meals are served, a lounge area perfect for afternoon relaxation, and lounge bar where pre-dinner drinks are served. Comfortable sofa spots are also set up around the camp to afford unique viewpoints.
Location
The camp is situated in the Northern Serengeti on the Lamai side, north of the Mara River, from June to November and then moves to the Southern Serengeti / Kusini Area for the birthing season.
Wildlife
This is a mobile camp that is booked to be as close to the Great Migration as possible. The Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebras can be witnessed any time of the year - a special event and a fantastic highlight of any trip to the Serengeti.

Permanent Camps
Permanent camps do not change location and therefore have a better infrastructure than mobile camps.
Mobile Camps
Mobile camps operate in the Serengeti and change their location two or three times a year following the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra. Mobile camps have a simpler, bush-like character. Although the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, there is often no running water in the rooms. Bathrooms are then equipped with a so-called bucket shower that needs to be filled with hot water by the camp team on demand.
