Lamai Private
Northern Serengeti

Accommodation
Lamai Private is a private camp located next door to Nomad Tanzania's Lamai Serengeti Camp in the northern Serengeti.

Lamai Private features 4 open-fronted rooms with roomy verandas, all sited with beautiful views over the Serengeti. Lamai Private has its own private bar, dining area and its own swimming pool. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with hot & cold running water, flush toilets and lovely showers. One of the rooms is ideal for families, with two adjoining bedrooms and a shared bathroom.

Location
Lamai Private sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, just a few km from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River in the Northern sector of the Serengeti National Park.

The closest airstrip is Kogatende.

Wildlife
The Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebras and the crossings of the Mara River can be witnessed from July to October - a special event and a fantastic highlight of any trip to the Serengeti.

During the rest of the year, Northern Serengeti is quite with guests and this is exactly the reason why you should visit. The resident game at Lamai Serengeti is spectacular all year round. Plains game in the form of zebra, topi, gazelles, impala, buffalo and giraffe all frequent the area. Lion are rarely far away and leopard, ever present, but always elusive, stalk the rocky kopjes and river lines.

Activities
Game drives based on private safari vehicle and guide

Permanent Camps
Permanent camps do not change location and therefore have a better infrastructure than mobile camps.
Mobile Camps
Mobile camps operate in the Serengeti and change their location two or three times a year following the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra. Mobile camps have a simpler, bush-like character. Although the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, there is often no running water in the rooms. Bathrooms are then equipped with a so-called bucket shower that needs to be filled with hot water by the camp team on demand.
