Accommodation
Nyasi Migrational Camp is moved twice a year, always on the heels of the large herds of wildebeest and zebra. It is a particularly elegant tented camp with a great Out of Africa flair. In the cozy lounge tent you can browse through beautiful safari books, review your snapshots of the day or have interesting conversations. A campfire is part of the daily routine and whenever possible and desired, your private outdoor table will be set up under the stars.
The camp consists of two sides that operate independently, each with its own lounge and dining tent. One side includes six double rooms, the other side two double rooms and the family tent with two en-suite tents and shared lounge. The family side is suitable for private bookings and larger families traveling with children (possible from the age of 4 years).
Location
The location of the camp follows the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. From about mid-December to the end of March, Nyasi Migrational Camp is located in the south within the private Maswa Game Reserve. From July to mid-October in the public Serengeti in the Lamai area north of the Mara River.
Wildlife
Witnessing the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra is of course an absolute highlight of any trip to Tanzania. Dramatic river crossings in the North and West and the birth of myriad young animals in the South are both unforgettable experiences. The incredible number of animals attracts predators at any time of the year which expect easy prey. Exciting safaris are guaranteed.
Activities
At Nyasi Camp all game drives take place with your private guide and vehicle. In the north only game drives by vehicle are possible (as within the national park). In the south, bush walks, night drives and a visit to the Datoga people can also be undertaken (as in the private Maswa area). In the north ballooning is an option which can be booked in advance if you are interested (extra cost).
