Lemala Ndutu / Mara Camp
Serengeti - Mobile
Accommodation
Lemala Camp is a classic mobile safari camp with 10 (Ndutu) respectively 12 (Mara) spacious tents, each with a solid wooden floor, 24-hr solar electricity supply, running water, small terrace with lounge sofa, en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet and bush shower, that is refilled with warm water on request. Two of the rooms are suitable for families and offer two en-suite bedrooms and a shared lounge.
The dining tent and lounge are separate tents, comfortably furnished and welcoming guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also an open fireplace that is popular with guests for the pre-dinner drinks.
Location
The camp moves twice a year in order to be as close to the Great Migration as possible.
Lemala Ndutu
The camp can be found in the Ndutu region from December through to the end of March. The Ndutu area is located south of the Naabi Gate and is not part of the Serengeti National Park. We call the camp Lamala Ndutu during this time of the year.
Lemala Mara
The camp is called Lemala Mara from June until the end of October while it is situated some 9km from Kogatende Airstrip in the northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River crossings.
Wildlife
The wildebeest enjoying the fresh grass shoots in the Ndutu area from December to March and give birth in their thousands every day mostly in February. The animals then move north and start crossing the Mara River from end of June.
This camp is mostly booked to experience the Great Migration.
Activities
Lamala's experienced guides are on hand to show guests the surrounding area in a 4x4 vehicle or on foot.

Permanent Camps
Permanent camps do not change location and therefore have a better infrastructure than mobile camps.
Mobile Camps
Mobile camps operate in the Serengeti and change their location two or three times a year following the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra. Mobile camps have a simpler, bush-like character. Although the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, there is often no running water in the rooms. Bathrooms are then equipped with a so-called bucket shower that needs to be filled with hot water by the camp team on demand.
