Maramboi Tented Lodge

Maramboi Tented Lodge features 38 spacious tented rooms, individually built on a raised deck with en-suite bathroom. There are 6 family rooms, perfect for guests with children. The bathrooms have a built-in shower and each tent has its own terrace from where guests can enjoy views of Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley.

The camp has a main area built on a raised deck. This is where the dining room and lounge are situated. The lounge has comfortable sofas and armchairs and a selection of board games are available. Every evening a fire is lit where guests can relax and enjoy the sunset whilst enjoying a drink. If the weather is good guests can have dinner outside under the stars. A swimming pool is available.

Maramboi Tented Lodge is a larger property and comes at a relatively low price, given the size and comfort of the rooms a good option for families.

Location

Maramboi Tented Lodge is very close to the eastern shore of Lake Manyara. It is only a 10 minute drive by car from Tarangire National Park, and approximately a two hours drive from Arusha.

The Great Rift Valley is clearly visible on the other side of the lake, with the escarpment dropping some 550 metres (1 640 feet) down to the lakeshore.

Wildlife

Zebras, giraffes, warthogs and antelopes walk between the lodge and the shores of Lake Manyara and can be seen from the evelated decks of the lodge. To do proper game drives, our guides will take you to Tarangire National Park.

The Tarangire River flows through Tarangire National Park and carries water even during the dry season. The park is renowned for its huge herds of elephant and many majestic baobab trees. You can expect to see the Big-5 and during the dry months from July to October and some of the highest concentration of wildlife of any park in Tanzania.

Activities

Maramboi is a base to visit Tarangire National Park. The main gate to Tarangire is only a short drive from Maramboi. The lodge also offers guided walks to Lake Manyara and private sundowners on top of a kopje to enjoy the views of Lake Burunge and Tarangire.
