Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp
Serengeti - Mobile
Accommodation
Serengeti Safari Camp moves throughout the Serengeti National Park, changing location to follow the movements of the migration. Serengeti Safari Camp is a rather rustic affair but offers a very charming and close to nature experience.
Serengeti Safari Camp has just six open-plan walk-in meru tents, with an en-suite bathroom at the rear. One of these tents is a family tent with two bedrooms and an adjoining sittting area. New eco-flush toilets and safari-style bucket showers, as well as a wash-basin with cold running water, and hot water delivered as and when you'd like them.
The main dining tent sits in the middle of the line of tents, with the fireplace right in front and a separate libary/bar tent nearby.
Location
The camp moves several times a year in order to be as close to the Great Migration as possible.December to April: the camp is on the southern Serengeti Plains with access to the main herds as they calve through February. Birding is excellent during this time, as is general game viewing. May to Early July: Western Corridor. The migration patterns can be unpredictable at this time of year, but the crossings of the Grumeti River (June/July) are spectacular if caught. Mid-June to November: northern Serengeti close to either the Mara or Sand Rivers, offering great game viewing and crossings of either of the rivers. Late November: the camp heads south again, arriving on the southern Serengeti Plains around mid- December.
Wildlife
The Serengeti is packed with game, especially during the Great Migration when thousands of wildebeest and zebras wander the rolling hills of the Serengeti in search a fresh green grass.
Activities
The camp offers game drives. Walking Safaris are possible in the Ndutu area only, the minimum age is 12 years.

Permanent Camps
Permanent camps do not change location and therefore have a better infrastructure than mobile camps.
Mobile Camps
Mobile camps operate in the Serengeti and change their location two or three times a year following the Great Migration of the wildebeest and zebra. Mobile camps have a simpler, bush-like character. Although the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, there is often no running water in the rooms. Bathrooms are then equipped with a so-called bucket shower that needs to be filled with hot water by the camp team on demand.
