Tarangire Kati Kati
Tarangire National Park

Accommodation
Tarangire Kati Kati Tented Camp is a mobile camp strategically located within Tarangire National Park near the Silale Swamp. The camp consists of 11 tents, with a choice of a double bed or two twin beds. The tents are situated at ground level with a private porch and views of the savannah. The rooms have a bathroom with a bucket shower as it is common with mobile camps. One of the rooms is a family tent, which consists of two interconnected tents and a shared bathroom and private porch.

The main area consits of two tents where meals are served and a fire pit where guests can enjoy an evening drink after their game drive.

Location
Tarangire National Park is situated some 120 km south of Arusha and renowned for its huge herds of elephant and many majestic baobab trees. The drive from Arusha to the park entry gate takes about two hours, from where it is a game drive of approximately two hours to reach the camp. The camp can also be accessed by plane from Arusha to Kuro Airstrip (25 min), followed by a 20-minute drive to camp.

Kati Kati is situated inside the National Park, in the southern part of Tarangire National Park near the Silale Swamp, far from the tourist rush. The location of the camp provides guests with the unique opportunity to witness wildlife and explore the natural beauty of Tarangire National Park right from the start of their safari. Camps that are located outside the park need to pass the main gate each and every time they access the park, which minors the safari experience in our opinion.

Wildlife
Although this park is quite a bit smaller than say the Serengeti, the concentration and variety of wildlife is immense. During the dry months from July to October, some of the highest concentration of wildlife of any park in Tanzania can be found. Lion, leopards, cheetahs and even the rare caracal are hunting here. Buffaloes, giraffes, impala, eland antelope, kudu, waterbuck, gazelle, oryx and many other species are abundant.

The Tarangire River flows continually through the park, even during the dry season. Large concentration of animals can now be seen along the river and at various waterholes. From July, many elephants migrate from the surrounding areas into the park and refresh themselves in the cool waters of the Tarangire river and the many swamps of the park.

Activities
The camp offers game drives.
