Erebero Hills
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Accommodation
Erebero Hills, set to open in early 2026, will be a new option to explore Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The design of Erebero Hills, meaning “a place where you can see far”, takes creative inspiration from the surrounding landscape of rolling hills. Sweeping views across the forest will be on offer from all guest suites, or from the hillside swimming pool on warm afternoons.
There will be 8 suites, with triple options in 2 rooms. The spacious, glass fronted interiors are filled with natural light, with a king-sized bed and both indoor and outdoor seating options designed to maximise the expansive views. A boot-room at the entrance to each suite offers a thoughtful design element, while the en-suite bathroom applies the finishing touches with a free-standing bathtub and both an indoor and outdoor shower.
The main lounge and swimming pool offer additional areas for relaxation.
Location
Erebero Hills will be nestled in 45 acres of reforested land and set on the northern fringes of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, some 30min drive from both the Buhoma Sector and the lesser visited Ruhija Sector.
Wildlife
The dense vegetation of Bwindi National Park is difficult to access and provides the perfect retreat for some 400 mountain gorillas. In addition to the endangered mountain gorillas, seven other primate species live here, including chimpanzees and the rare and beautiful L'Hoest monkeys. In total, Bwindi offers shelter to additional 80 mammals, some of which are very rare, such as forest elephants, bushbok, wild hog or the shy golden cat. Together with more than 560 bird species Bwindi is clearly a biologically highly varied region.
Activities
Gorilla trekking, forest walks. Spa treatments are offered in the guest rooms.
Gorilla trekking starts in the morning and can take as little as two hours or as much as six hours, depending on where the gorillas are. Only 8 guests are allowed per gorilla group and the maximum time spent with the gorillas is strictly 1 hour. The walk may include trekking through dense forest, sometimes including steeper climbs and guests need a bit of endurance and good footgear but will be rewarded with a life changing experience. Minimum age for Gorilla Trekking is 15 years.
