Sindabezi Island
Zambezi River

Accommodation
Sindabezi Island is a romantic bush camp built on a private island in the middle of the Zambezi River. It can be booked individually or on private basis and offers the same activities as Tongabezi. Sindabezi feels like a safari camp and the view of the river and the neighbouring alluvial plains is authentically wild.

Sindabezi features four thatched chalets and a honeymoon chalet with a view of the water flowing by. The chalets are beautifully and comfortably furnished and have en-suite bathrooms with an outdoor shower and a veranda facing the river. The honeymoon chalet has an additional bathtub.

The main area consists of a round lounge with lots of cushions and seating and a few chairs and tables arranged on the sandy floor. In the evening, a campfire is lit outside and, of course, food is served under the stars. There is also a viewing platform with sofas and seating, which is perfect for looking out over the river and to enjoy a cooling breeze.

Location
Sindabezi Island is located 14 kilometres above the famous Victoria Falls. The island can be reached by boat from Tongabezi in about 10 minutes.

Wildlife
In the Zambezi there are of course plenty of crocodiles and also hippos that can be seen on a boat trip, and sometimes elephants and buffalo that come down to the river.

It is also possible to visit the small Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, where there is a good chance of spotting one of the rare rhinos with the help of the rangers. The rhinos are guarded around the clock. You can get out of the car and get very close to the rhinos on foot.

Activities
The Sindabezi guides will conduct the following activities with their guests: Included are visits to the mighty Victoria Falls, boat tours, canoe trips, fishing, visits to a local African village or market and game drives.

Additional activities in the area can be arranged for an extra charge: Helicopter flight, microlight, white water rafting, horse riding - just to name a few.
