Located directly on the riverbank, the five identical en-suite river cottages (-> Images ) provide a little deck in front of the house and direct view of the river. The larger houses are open fronted and come with additional lounge. They are called Bird House (-> Images ), Tree House (-> Images ) and Honeymoon House (-> images ). Nut House (-> Images ) and Dog House (-> Images ) are even larger with private plunge pool but these rooms have closed glass fronts. Dog House is a good option for families as it offers two bedrooms, lounge, fire place and a pool. With lesser view of the river, Garden House would be a second option for families, offering two bedrooms, lounge and pool within its own private enclosure. (-> Images ).
The main building (-> Images ) has a central position and is connected to the rooms to both sides by pathways. There is a restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, fire place and large decks to the river where romantic dinners under the stars are served if the weather permits. There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi. Guests can do as much or as little as they wish, with game drives, bush walks and boating trips all included in the price.
The Lookout is a wooden construction built into the Zambezi, conceived as a chill out zone for those who want to relax and read. The plaform is also used to serve private meals.
Game drives are also offered into the nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where there is an abundance of general game species like buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and impala. There is also a chance of finding one of the rare rhinos. The rhinos are watched around the clock but visitors are allowed to leave the vehicle and get close to these magnificent creatures.
The following activities can be arranged at extra cost: Helicopter and microlight flights, white water rafting, horse riding and a visit to the falls on the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi - to name but just a few.
