2 nights Tubu Tree Camp, Okavango Delta

Tubu Tree Camp is a classic safari camp. It comprises nine tents raised on stilts with unrivalled vistas over a broad seasonal floodplain. The stylishly furnished rooms are constructed beneath shade-giving trees.

All rooms have king-size beds (or twins), a lounge, a bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and a delightful deck to relax and read on. The rooms are connected to the main area via raised walkways. One of the rooms is a family room that has two adjoining tents, each with its own bathroom and a common lounge in the middle.

The main building consists of a lounge with a bar and a dining tent. A staircase leads to the upper floor, where further sofas invite you to read and relax. Guests like to meet for a pre-dinner drink at the fire pit in front. A little further down is a plunge pool with sun loungers.

Location
Tubu Tree Camp is situated in the western Okavango Delta on a large peninsula (Hunda Island) that ensures great year-round game drives. The plain in front of the camp usually fills with water during the floods, turning into a lagoon brimming with antelope and birdlife from April until September.

The region is one of the most beautiful and diverse in the whole Okavango Delta, and the romantic palm islands create a real Caribbean feeling.

Tubu Tree Camp is only accessible by light aircraft. Hunda Airstrip is located approximately 15 minutes from the camp. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 35 minutes, and 1 hour 20 minutes to Kasane.

Tubu Tree Camp is part of the private Jao Concession (630 km²). Pelo Camp, Jacana Camp, Kwetsani Camp and the premier Jao Camp all belong to this concession.

2 nights Duba Explorers Camp, Okavango Delta

Duba Explorers Camp is made up of five expedition-style tents of light airy canvas on slightly raised decking, each with views of the surrounding floodplain. Each tent has a small desk and private verandah plus en-suite facilities consisting of flush loo, double basins and indoor shower.

The main area is under sweeping marquis canvas, on raised decking and consists of an open-concept dining and lounge area which opens to the outdoors on all sides. In the evenings, the fire pit is always a popular spot to enjoy an Amarula and recount the day’s events.

Access is via a long wooden bridge that crosses the channel in front of the camp. The camp is a crossover of Zarafa Camp and Selinda Explorers Camp. A quite unique plunge pool, built on the back of an old lorry, stands right by the water and offers both refreshment and a view of the passing elephants.

Location
The camp is situated in the northern reaches of the 33'000 hectare Duba concession and surrounded on all sides by pristine Okavango Delta. The camp sits quite a distance from the original Duba Plains camp.

Duba Explorers Camp is only accessible by light aircraft, normally to Duba's Omdop Airstrip and from there by helicopter in 5 minutes directly to the camp. Flight time to Maun in a Cessna Caravan is 30 minutes, and 1 hour 20 minutes to Kasane.

The premier Duba Plains Camp is the choice for guests who look for a true luxury option in the original Duba Plains area.
