Varty Camp - named after one of founding families of Londolozi - reflects the owners' almost 100-year love affair with their land and emphasizes on family and heritage.
Guests have a beautiful view of the Sand River from the 10 chalets of Varty Camp. Each chalet has its own plunge pool and a private terrace. 4 x 2 chalets are right next to each other and inter-leading, making them perfectly suited for families. The two additional Superior Chalets are stand-alone and provide more outdoor space and an additional outdoor shower. Children over the age of six are welcome at Varty Camp.
The main area of the lodge is open on three sides, the entire riverbank appears to be within one’s reach. Breakfast and lunch are served on the open deck, dinner in the outdoor boma. The camp also offers a guest gym, curio shop, library and the restorative Healing House where the spa can be found.
Location
Londolozi Game Reserve is a nature reserve situated in the very heart of the famous Sabi Sand Reserve. The reserve is accessed in approximately 1 hour 20 minutes by air and 5 hours by car from Johannesburg.
Wildlife
The stars of numerous documentary films, the Londolozi is renowned for its leopard and the chances of encountering big cat here are excellent. Londolozi is also home to numerous other species of animal, including elephant, hyena, rhino, antelope and giraffe. The Sand River winds its way through the reserve, attracting a large variety of wildlife and birdlife.
Activities
Game drives in open safari vehicles, night drives and daily bushwalks are available.
